La Tour Cafe

So, this long anticipated place has finally been tried and I'm so excited to blog about it because my tastebuds are being satisfied just typing about it lol This place just opened Jan 2011 by the same family that established Ba-le sandwich shop which by the way has about 25 shops across state. They are known for the french flare and artisian breads and need I LOVE a good bread :)
Its located at:
888 N. Nimitz Hwy. Suite 101 Honolulu, HI 96817 - (808) 697-5000
Open Mon-Thu,Sun 7am-9pm; Fri-Sat 7am-10pm

I decided to drag my sis-in-law along with me...which she didn't mind lol We left right after I dropped all my girls off at school so we could get there early and maybe make a few other stops. We got there no problems with parking but they were serving breakfast and lunch wouldn't start for another 20 mins. So, I figured why not order from the breakfast, lunch and dessert menus right? So thats just what we did:
The top is croque madame
which is a open face "sandwich" w/black forest ham, cheddar cheese and an over easy egg that bursts open when you pull the bread apart.....YUMMY!!!! I was savoring every bit of it and of course used my bread to soak up every drip of that yoke lol
The next was a prosciutto and egg sandwich w/cheddar and pesto sauce. Again the bread AMAZINGLY yummy, warm and baked to perfection and pesto sauce on a morning sandwich more PLEASE? lol

Lunch menu
We got a turkey and sundried tomato panini accompanied w/a salad. It was delicious!! I hate repeating myself but the bread was AMAZING again lol Everything about this sandwich was great I'd totally get it again.

We got some of these almond croissants that were so yummy and has this surprise middle that was almost like a moist cake. I was thinking flaky mess when I took my first bite and was surprised that it didn't just fall apart. This was so good too

Up next we had a flat bread pizza chicken and pesto
Nothing so crazy about this. Typical pesto pizza and chicken was rather not so exciting. The bread of course was awesome and I think the oven they had cooked it in was way cool:

Of course the most unique thing about this place is that it has macaroons and heaps of them....so we had to TRY well.....all of them lol
We started off with this sampling we got Yuzu(japanese citrus flavor) coffee, chocolate, strawberry guava, melona and mango

I liked it so much went back and ordered a dozen to take home lol If you order a dozen you get 2 more free.
And the winners were:
Coconut
Coffee
mango
chocolate

I can't wait to go to this place again and try more of their yummy sandwiches and get more macaroons lol

Snow Factory

Who ever came up with this idea was GENIUS!!!! It says on the front window before you come in:
So, I was like ok.....lets see what they've got to offer.

Walked in and it was all white and pretty clean. As I stood in line a couple walked up behind me and they were virgins of this place too lol So as we discussed what we might order I just asked what is the most popular? He points to:
Ok so not hard at all I LOVE the top 3 so I order that and a few added toppings:

I added mango bursts they added it to the middle and then I had condensed milk
I was surprised when I took my first bite. Nothing what I had expected. It looked one way yet tasted seriously like frozen yogurt as soon as it hits your tongue. Really weird, but really cool. I think next time I go I'm going to skip the condensed milk it was way sweet. Condensed milk tastes better on shave ice because its more watery. This item on the other hand is far from tasting watery. A must try I must say.
This is the lychee flavored one w/lychee bursts and gummy bears for my lil man

We enjoyed ourselves and was so happy to come to this place. Like I said it is a MUST try.

Happy Eating :)

grocery yummies

Ok so I haven't gotten to eat out at any restaurants in the past couple days total BUMMER :( but I have been able to indulge in stuff I buy at Food Land like the following:
Don't know why its not straightened but anyways this is my new secret crush lol I can eat this bad boy in one sitting w/one BIG glass of milk lol

Have you tasted it??
Oh if you haven't you don't know what your missing :)

Today I was perusing through the store trying to figure out  what I was going to make for dinner. I came across the clearance section and saw some pasta. I LOVE TORTELLINI and when I saw a package I couldn't resist especially because it was only $2.50
I made some garlic alfredo sauce to compliment the pasta and it was a MATCH made in HEAVEN :) I felt like I was @ Bravo's if only there was garlic rolls lol

Happy eating yall ;)

Kinda hungry after running the GAR

So we just finished running the Great Aloha Run and we had to go change our oil for our car. We stopped our usual spot for that Jiffy Lube in Pearl City. We were there pretty early so they did it pretty fast but while we were waiting we were trying to look for a place that had smoothies or frozen yogurt instead we found a place w/those bubble drinks......so we ordered:
We got the most popular flavor Honeydew

and mango

They were pretty good but, I still prefer Angel's one lol

We got these from a place called
They are new to this mini mall area and the food looked pretty good from the advertisements so...we couldn't resist we had to order lol

We ended up getting
Meat Jun w/mac salad tofu and salad beneath it
Not the best meat jun I ever tasted but it was alright...I had to at least try it, its one of my fav dishes

Loco moco w/corn, tofu and spring rolls

My fav spicy bbq pork YUMMY!

After having some lunch/breakfast we had to run some errands and started to feel that heat again and had came across a frozen yogurt place called

Some of the yummies you could add to your yogurt above and below

I got a cheesecake flavored yogurt, vanilla and red velvet
toppings I added was little pieces of cheesecake, some kind of pearl looking that was amazingly great, graham cracker crumbs granola and whipped cream
The above is the before and the below is the after
YUMMY!!!

This is a better pics of the pearl looking thing...its so cool because when you pop it in your mouth you taste it and then it just disappears. Its kind of hard to explain its one of those things you just have to taste lol

Anyways I had to drive home and I was so tired because I only slept 3 hours that night so I had me a

and my fav

What a day I got home and was POOPED!!! Don't know how I'm blogging this right now I need to be sleeping. Happy eating yall :)

Happy Presidents Day too

La Palme D'or

So today to start off my weekend a new place I had to try is a Japanese/French inspired pastry shop located @ Alamoana Shopping Center right next to Shirokiya on the outskirts of the mall.

Unique, uh yeah! I heard about these jelly drinks that they have and I HAD to TRY IT!
See the jelly at the bottom, the top part I decided to add soy milk $4.95. You can add soy milk or whole milk and whipped cream. You mix it and....
HEAVEN in a cup....btw this pairs well w/their custard cream puffs. BEST custard puffs EVER, PROMISE KINE lol

Some other things I got:

Keep in mind if you ever decide to go there I got 1 JELLY AU LAIT 1 cream puff, 1 caramel brulee and 1 acai cup and it came out to $15 so be prepared for the price if your willing to experience these fine desserts. I personally didn't care for the acai cup and the brulee needed to be torched at the top I could still taste the liquor that should have been burned right?....oh well too late lol

If I ever go back it would be to go and get another JELLY AU LAIT they were BOMB oh yeah and their CREAM PUFFS :)

It's always an awesome day when I get to try out a new place, so thankful that my hub lets me do it and grabs
the bill every time  and so thankful for the internet to find these places

Have a great day yall  and good eating ;)

BYUH Farmer's market

So I got an e-mail earlier this week that notified me about the farmers market happening at BYU-H. There menu included this Wagyu beef hamburger plate. I've never tasted it before and recently I've seen it a lot on menu's online. So, I thought to myself its worth a try right? For $7.98 you got a pretty big burger w/the perks: lettuce, tomato, sauteed onions, cheese, bacon and a side order of  roasted red potatoes. I really liked mine so much I bought 3 plates lol Ok, all 3 weren't for me just 1 the other 2 were for my husband and his friend who were cleaning our back yard. Nice gesture right? ;) keep working guys lol

My husband is so excited this year because our mango tree is flowering which means: MANGO season has arrived=happy family. We cut our tree last year to make room for our sons jumpers for his 1st bday and well we didn't get any mango's that season :( So after being patient were FINALLY going to get some this year!

Anyways I've got to rest up I've got to go work my butt off later today @ Zumba since I ate that HUGE burger...thanks for following :) good eating this weekend! I'll have more to show this weekend ;)

Farmers market @ Windward Mall

They have it every Wed and well today was my lucky day....well my hub had an emergency dentist apt because of a sore tooth and well he was lucky too because he wasn't charged a thing even thought we have no dental insurance lol So, while the hub was getting checked out I was perusing the food booths and Macy's HUGE sale YESSSS! It was so fun!

Here are some of the things I got to try:

There were chocolate nutella crepes, strawberry, banana and I think cinnamon. They were soooooo GOOD! We got 8 lol They add powdered sugar to it and OMG orgasmic!

The next one we went to was like a version of china town lol manapua's adobo, pork, hot dog, azuki bean you name it they had it. There was too much I couldn't fit it in my frame and there was so much people I couldn't back up enough to take a good pics so excuse the lousy pics...

I love these onion pastries....I always get them all the time. I think it might be a filipino pastry not sure

can't go wrong w/hot dogs for the kids

I wasn't full yet so I went by Ninja Sushi and got my favorite thing there:
Spicy Ahi Tuna salad:
Ok so I totally forgot to take a pics before I ate it so....this is close to the ending of my pig out session lol
The firs time I had this salad was in Mililani right next to the movie theater by Walmart and it looked more like an expensive salad and had better croutons and it was mostly spinach and the expensive dark green leafy lettuce. So to my surprise when I opened my box and saw this...??? I was like ughhhh what happened to my salad? Also the ahi wasn't even spicy it seemed like a cold ball of regular ahi...BLAH! Good thing there was a spicy dressing on the side that I poured all over lol

Next time I'm going to check with them before I order it. I really like their sushi but because I'm trying to cut back on rice....I try to get their salads obviously I'm not going to get it from windward anymore but I had to try it. After this JAHLOPYjunk  salad I washed it down with this drink I just tried today:
Some of my friends told me I had to try it. It was on sale and so I figured what the hell go for it. I personally don't like how aloe smells but I had to try it for myself since my friends swear that its good. The thing that got me was there is aloe pulp in it, you know like orange pulp in orange juice? So I took my first drink and I was actually surprised at how good it was. I'm not really a juice person but I liked it. I read the ingredient and there is only like 6 ingredients: water, aloe, cane sugar, honey, and vitamin c. The bottle is 2 servings and 1 serving is like 60 calories or something like that. Its worth a taste right? So go for it the next time you see it in the store.

Oh yeah and I forgot to mention on my way walking out I bought some of the bread/cracker I had at Ruth's Chris its called Sesame Lavosh
Its so yummy and light yet rich. Its hard to explain you just have to try it lol

Anyways that was my day of tasting :) Hope you enjoyed it as much as I did!

bye bye
